Where can I buy the HTC One Mini Retailers point at release date and price

The HTC One Mini was yesterday unveiled as the 4.3-inch sibling to the flagship HTC One, with a number of networks and retailers already confirming their plans to stock the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini rival in the UK.

While high street chain Phones 4u was the first to confirm its plans to stock the HTC One Mini, a raft of further retailers and network providers have since jumped on the bandwagon for the metal clad mid-market handset. A scaled down version of its flagship sibling, the HTC One Mini boasts a 4.3-inch display with a 720p HD resolution. It runs a 1.4GHz dual-core processor alongside 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

Helping you answer the question of where can I buy the HTC One Mini?, we have collated all the stockists and networks set to offer the dual-core device.

MobileFun

Already offering HTC One Mini pre-orders, online retailer and accessory seller MobileFun has also pointed at the HTC One Mini price and release date, two bits of information yet to be confirmed by the Taiwanese manufacturer.

“Mobile Fun are happy to announce that we’ll be offering the HTC One Mini sim-free and unlocked, for £379.99,” an official blog post by the online retailer has confirmed. “The phone will be available from August.”

An official spokesperson for the company added: “We’ll also be offering a full range of HTC One Mini accessories for the new phone, including the leading brands of HTC One Mini cases like Case-Mate, Cellular Line and first-party HTC.”

Allowing wannabe owners to register their interest in the UltraPixel camera hosting HTC One Mini now, Phones 4u has revealed it will offer the phone from launch. HTC One Mini pricing has yet to be confirmed by the retailer which will offer the phone on a selection of leading networks.

“The HTC One mini will be joining the wide range of HTC smartphones available at Phones 4u stores and online, and will be strengthening our already extensive variety of 4G devices.” Scott Hooton, Chief Commercial Officer at Phones 4u said.

“The HTC One mini is an opportunity for HTC to bring their smartphones to a different set of customers – it’s the smartphone made for those that want the best bits of the HTC One, but in a smaller more compact package.”

iOS 7 to introduce head movement controls

iOS 7 will allow users to control their iOS device using head movements, a feature discovered in the new iOS 7 beta 2.

Found in the Accessibility section within the Settings menu, the head movement control option will allows users to access certain features using head gestures in the newly confirmed iOS 7.

Left or right head movements can be used to access the home button, for example. Other functions that can be controlled using head movements include calling up Siri, opening the Notification Centre, increase or decrease the volume, open the App Switcher panel or even just tap the touchscreen.

It seems that all the available options offered with any left or right head movement are cycled through, with an additional head movement made to select that option.

Intended for Accessibility iOS 7 users, the new head movement controls are nonetheless an interesting addition to Apple’s new mobile OS.

Similar to the Samsung SmartScroll and SmartPause functions found within the Samsung Galaxy S4, iOS 7 looks to take advantage of the sensor and cameras in Apple devices like the iPad mini and iPhone 5.

The new head movement control feature was discovered in the iOS 7 beta 2 version released earlier this week to iOS developers.

Some of the new features discovered in the version 2 beta of iOS 7 include new male and female Siri voices and iPad support. iOS 7 beta 2 also included the Voice Memos app that was missing from the original iOS 7 beta.

iOS 7 brings a flatter and more refined user experience than the current iOS 6 operating system, which Apple describes as “the most significant update since the original iPhone.”

The iOS 7 will launch in autumn as a free download for iPhone 4, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5, with the iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad 4 also making the iOS 7 cut.

Samsung Galaxy S5 octa core variant does exist

The Samsung Galaxy S5 was unveiled at MWC 2014, and now we know there will be an octa-core variant of the device.

According to an official Samsung infographic release last night, Samsung has plans to release an Exynos octa-core version of the Galaxy S5 – albeit in limited markets as with the eight-core Samsung Galaxy S4.

Last night, Samsung only mentioned the 2.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor for the Galaxy S5, but the infographic listed a 2.1GHz octa-core Exynos 5 processor model.

The infographic has since been redacted, with any mention of the eight-core variant removed from sight.

A roll-out for the octa-core variant would be very limited though, so don’t expect it to arrive here in the UK if and when it is unveiled.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Features

The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch full 1080p HD super AMOLED display running on a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM.

It features a 16-megapixel rear camera paired with a 2-megapixel front-facing option and Samsung has introduced a super-fast focusing time of less than 0.3-seconds.

The S5 is IP67 dust and water resistant and is still encased within a plastic body that is now adorned with a perforated design on the rear.

Coming with either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, the S5 still offers microSD card support up to 64GB.

However, the new features of the S5 include an iPhone 5S Touch ID rivalling fingerprint scanner embedded within the home button. You’ll need to swipe your digit on the sensor in order for it to be recognises, rather than simply holding it there. It does work with PayPal though, which is dangerously helpful.

The S5 also features a heart rate monitor on the rear, which works together with the new S Health app, integrated pedometer and calorie tracker to help you stay fit.

iOS 7 tips and tricks Hidden secrets and new features

iOS 7 was introduced with the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C  is now available to download for all iPhones and iPads. It is the first major overhaul of the iOS since the original iPhone -  And, while plenty of the features are similar, how things work has changed significantly in some places, there are lots of new features to get used to as well.

Our iOS 7 tips and tricks guide walks you through some of the new features, how to perform common tasks and some of secret iOS 7 tips and tricks that are harder to find.

iOS 7 tips: Make text larger and easier to read

If your eyesight is on the wane you dont necessarily have to switch to a larger phone. Thats because Apple has included a Dynamic Type mode that makes text larger in supported apps.

To adjust the setting go to Settings > General > Text Size and adjust the slider as you see fit. Not all apps support it, but they should increase in number as apps are updated to support iOS 7.

iOS 7 secrets: Correct Siris pronunciation

We dont want to pick on Siri, but it sometimes makes a right hash of pronouncing names. You can fix this just by saying "Siri thats not how you pronounce that". It will then ask you to say it again to learn the name better.

iOS 7 tips: Block people you dont like

While were sure you get on with everyone just fine, sometimes it might be necessary to block certain people from calling you. iOS 7 finally allows this. Its easy to activate. All you have to do is goto their entry in the Contacts app and scroll down to the Block this contact option

iOS 7 secrets: Turn-off parallax wallpapers and movement

Getting motion sickness, or just dont like parallax effect in iOS 7? No problem, it can be turned off. Its tucked away in the Accessibility section, so head to Settings > General > Accessibility and find the Reduce Motion option. Done and done.

iOS 7 tips: Search your apps, emails, contacts, messages, music and more

iOS has had universal search, known as Spotlight, for ages and it hasnt changed much for iOS 7. The only difference is how you access it. In previous versions it had its own screen to the left of the main homescreen.

In iOS 7, Spotlight search is accessed by swiping down on the icon grid on any homescreen - see graphic above. This shows the search box and on-screen keyboard, and it works the same whether youre using an iPhone or iPad.

By default it searches for a huge range of things: pretty much anything that has a native app. It even searches for podcasts. You can customise what is searches for by going to Settings > General > Spotlight Search and selecting what you want.

iOS 7 secrets: LED flash for notifications

The Accessibility section of the Settings app has long been a source of useful tweaks, and its still the case in iOS 7. This is an oldie but a goodie. Prefer a light to vibrations? You can make the LED flash... erm... flash when you have notifications. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility and scroll down to Hearing where LED Flash for Alerts resides.

iOS 7 tips: Save minutes by using FaceTime Audio calls

Those of you lucky enough to have unlimited data plans but limited minutes will like this one. iOS 7 adds the ability to have audio only calls using FaceTime. Just go to the desired contact and press on the phone symbol next to FaceTime. Alternatively, you can search for your contact in the FaceTime app itself.

iOS 7 secrets: Get a quick view of your day

Apple has revamped the Notification Center for iOS 7 to include what it calls Today View. Today View can show you a number of different things, but by default it shows you the date, a summary of the weather where you are, and the appointments you have on any given day.

Scroll further down and you can see your calendar for the day, up-to-date stocks and shares info and a short summary of your schedule for the next day.

As with Notification Center before, its accessed by swiping down from the top edge of the screen and its accessible from the lockscreen, homescreen and from within any app.

iOS 7 tips: Stop people snooping on your messages and appointments

The new Notification Center is a nice addition iOS 7, but it does throw up one obvious problem: as its accessible from the lock screen, anyone could view your appointments and excerpts of your messages without your pass code.

Luckily Apple has thought of this and it is possible to customise the Notification Center available from the lock screen, or even turn it off entirely.

To do so, go to Settings > Notification Center and under Access on Lock Screen disable the features you want to limit or turn off both Today View and Notifications View to turn off the Notification Center from the lock screen entirely.

iOS 7 secrets: Customise the Today View

You can also customise the Today View to a limited extent, something we hope Apple expands on to allow third-party apps to appear here.

Head to Settings > Notification Center again and scroll down to the Today View section highlighted above. The options are quite limited at present, but unless you really need it we recommend getting rid of the Stocks updates. Not only do few people genuinely need, it drains battery as it has to be kept up-to-date.

To change the order of what appears, select Edit and drag the available items up and down.

iOS 7 tips: Create your own parallax wallpapers

There are a few ways to make your wallpapers more interesting in iOS 7. One is a dynamic, animated background: a nice idea, albeit one that uses a little extra juice.

More straightforward are the so-called parallax wallpapers where the background moves in conjunction with the way you tilt your phone/tablet using the motion sensors. This is the default for all still backgrounds, but those not optimised for it can appear a little blurred due to scaling.

To avoid this you can create your own simply by adjusting the resolution of the wallpaper you use. You need to have 200 pixels on each side of the image to create the perfect parallax wallpaper. The correct resolutions are follows:

iPad 2 and iPad mini: 1,424 x 1,424
iPad 3 and iPad 4: 2,448 x 2,448
iPhone 4S: 1,360 x 1,040
iPhone 5: 1,536 x 1,040

The iPhone 4 doesnt support parallax wallpapers.

iOS 7 secrets: How to switch and close apps

One of the more noticeable, and very welcome, changes in iOS 7 is the new way to switch to and close apps running in the background.

Instead of a poky app tray of icons, double clicking the home button reveals scrollable previews of each app open in the background. Just tap to open, or swipe up to close the app. Simples.

iOS 7 tips: Check your shelves are level using the Compass app

The actual Compass app has always been oddity as its more useful in actual apps than on its own. But Apple has added somethig a little extra for iOS 7: a spirit level. Its not the stuff of legend, but its bound to come in useful some time, surely?

iOS 7 secrets: Set the default direction type in Apple Maps

Setting aside the merits of Apples Maps for the moment, one neat new addition is the ability to set the default directions type: driving or walking. To do so, head to Settings > Maps then scrolls down to the Preferred Directions section.

iOS 7 tips: Enable Do Not Track in Safari

The new version of Safari adds support for the, still voluntary, Do Not Track protocol. Websites that respect Do Not Track wont use cookies and so forth when this is enabled. To do so, go to Settings > Safari and toggle the option under Privacy & Security

iOS 7 secrets: Quickly toggle Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Brightness and more

This is arguably the most requested feature of iOS 7. Its taken Apple long enough to act on it, but Control Center in iOS 7 finally delivers. Moreover, all the above features (and more) are accessible from the lock screen.

Control Center is accessed by swiping up from the bottom edge of the phone, the opposite from the Notifications Center.

Along bottom edge are four icons: Flashlight, Timer, Calculator and Camera. All but the Flashlight one open the respective apps.

Above these are music controls, and above these is quick access to the screen brightness controls.

Finally theres the five icons at the top starting with Airplane Mode on the left, then Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb and Lock Oritentation.

iOS 7 tips: Toggle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and open apps using Siri

And if the above isnt convenient enough, its now possible to toggle these settings using Siri. So, for example, "Turn on Wi-Fi"  will do exactly that. You can open first and third-party apps well using the obvious command, "Open Facebook app" or similar. "Take a photo" opens the camera app, too.

You can even go deeper into the Settings app, so saying "Open Mail settings" will take you to that section of the Settings app.

Its worth experiementing with what you can do, or you can tap the ? symbol in the bottom left of the Siri screen.

Top 3 Android Battery Saving Applications

Are you tiered of your android device because it eats a lots of RAM? If you are looking for such questions like How to increase my battery backup etc. then you are absolutely at right place! We all use mobile phones too much these days, like for internet, for listening to music etc. and battery comes from 60% to 15% in just a span of time, and thats very much frustrating. Some costly devices like Samsung Galaxy S4, Motorola HTC One Mini, Nexus 5 has better battery backup which we require but some people have low budget and they cannot afford these devices so the guide is for them! mAh doesnt mean more backup. Battery can be saved with smart optimizations, low sound, less brightness etc. but who has got time to them? Even I dont have much time to them so I use some battery saving application which does it automatically for me and trust me, it works. But which application to use? There will be tons of applications when you will search battery saver applications for android, so to help you I am making list of top 3 application which are best in saving battery of an android device. Also a good thing is that you dont need to root your mobile phone. They can increase your battery backup by 20-30%! Here are top 3 best battery saving applications for android device:

[Top 3 Android battery saving applications]

3rd Easy Battery Saver

This battery saving application has different modes like General Saving Mode, Intelligent Saving Mode, Super Power Saving Mode, Advanced Customized Mode, Normal Mode. The application has decent reviews but personally when I tried this application, I didnt find any improvements in my battery backup but it is better than Juice saver etc. But the good part of the application is that you can run it on your Froyo, GingerBread and other old Android versions too.

Requirements: Android 2.0 Eclair or above

Application size: 1.8 MegaBytes
Installs: 10,000,000 - 50,000,000
Last update: 17 December 2013
Current version: 3.3.4
Ratings on Google Play Store: 4.6

Get it on Google Play

2nd Battery Widget Reborn

This battery saver application is better and confortable application and I didnt find any flaw in it. It is like a widget and you can adjust brightness, turn ON and OFF some android features. The widget is resizable on android 4.0 ice cream sandwich and above. Also it has good reviews on Play Store. It doesnt have any modes like Easy Battery Saver. This application doesnt have a boring UI but attractive UI. I like the application just because of its UI, widget and savings.

Requirements: Android 2.3 GingerBread or above

Application size: 6.0 MegaBytes
Installs: 1,000,000 - 5,000,000
Last update: 30 January 2014
Current version: 1.9.11 (Beta)
Ratings on Google Play Store: 4.7

Get it on Google Play

1st DU Battery saver & Widget

This is the best battery saving application I have found in Google Play Store, the free version is good but this is article for free application so I am gonna tell you about its free version only. The application gives you details about the battery temperature, has modes like Easy Battery Saver but it quite better than that. Also it doesnt slow your mobile phone. If you are rooted then you can get special features like CPU frequency which slows down your device (underclocks it) so your device can save battery while it is locked. Some modes are General Mode, Long Standby, Sleep Mode, Custom Mode etc.

Requirements: Android 2.1 Eclair or above

Application size: 4.7 MegaBytes
Installs: 1,000,000 - 5,000,000
Last update: 15 January 2014
Current version: 3.5.0
Ratings on Google Play Store: 4.5

Get it on Google Play

So these were top 3 battery saving applications for android device. I hope you liked this article. Comment below and give reviews about these applications in your comments.

How To Unbrick Soft brick or Hard Brick Samsung Galaxy S I9000 rooted non rooted

Bricked your Samsung Galaxy S I9000? No problem. Heres a simple guide which might help you to reset (hard or soft) your Galaxy S. There are many problems users faces like using some anroid applications that modifies are system and bricking their devices. Many people has complainted that their devices do not boots sometimes and they have to flash full ROM to fix the bootloop, but using this guide, you can recover your Samsung Galaxy S I9000 from bootloops easily. Most of the time, theres a problem of data partition that causes the problem and also this guide is not tough. Just some selections and you are done!

Sometimes your device might have failed to boot because of some problems like force close on application, any error you face while using your device or if your device is lagging or giving poor performance. Not only these problems, there might be many problems which I dont even know and you are facing them. NO! you dont need to be rooted! Non rooted users can also follow this guide and unbrick their devices. This will work on 3e (stock), CWM Recovery or any custom recovery.
Also if you want to make your device like when it booted for first time then also this guide will help you to do that! This will clean your applications, data, Gmail data, contacts (saved on your phone memory), SMSes (saved on your phone memory) and every single APK with their data , but this will be only for custom installed APKs, applications like settings, contacts, phone and  other stock APKs wont be removed, but only their data will be removed for example you set "display contacts of SIM card" and after performing this guide, you have to enable them all again!
Okay lets see in what cases this guide will help you to recover your bricked device:

  • If you installed an application that modified data partition.
  • If your applications are showing too many force closes (or force close).
  • If you get strange errors in your ROM.
  • If you want to make your phone refresh- make it like when you booted for first time.
  • If you messed something like settings or anything and want to reset them.
  • If your Samsung Galaxy S I9000 is lagging to much and want to fix the lag.
  • If you want to factory reset your Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
Note: If you are rooted then most of the chances are that you modified or used any application that modifies the system partition! If you know you did something like then just flash the same ROM again (it wont wipe the data and will work like you used it before it looped!)  or did you try Xposed? If yes then Xposed framework always makes a backup in SD Card so just flash it and your mobile phone will boot normally.
Also note one thing that your every file will be removed (file means SMSes, phone logs, internet history and everything!) and your files saved in your internal or external SD Cards wont be effected!

Now I think you have read the note and you are ready to follow the guide. I will not be responsible for anything that happens to your mobile phone.

How To Fix (hard unbrick) Samsung Galaxy S I9000 easily:

  • Shut down the phone or simply remove the battery and make sure it is completely shut down and not in bootloader or at any partition (I mean bootloader or recovery).
  • Press and hold the volume up + home + power buttons simultaneously for sometime till the bootloader (Samsung logo) appears.
  • Soon there will be a simple flash on your screen (not like bright or with colorful colors), which will boot your device to recovery.
  • [Use volume buttons (volume up for moving abovevolume down for moving below and power button to select the options)]
  • Use volume down button to move down and select wipe data/factory reset option from your 3e (stock) or CWM recovery.
  • On this screen, you will be asked to wipe your data or perform a full wipe.
  • Now make sure that you are ready to root your mobile phone and select YES – delete all user data to perform full factory reset or wipe your data.
  • Within some fractions of minutes, your Samsung Galaxy S I9000 will hard reset and factory reset.
  • When you are complete with wiping, press reboot system now to reboot your Samsung Galaxy S I9000 in a normal way.
  • Wait for some times till your mobile phone rebooted.
This boot will take much more time than the normal boot because the system is generating new files that are required for it to perform tasks like data, caches, log files etc. JUST DONT CLICK ANYWHERE AND WAIT FOR SOMETIMES. If you will reboot your device then also nothing will happen wrong, but it will take the same amount of time so better be quick!
Fixed your device? Oh, I am happy for you. Please say tuned for more stuffs like this!
